"When I got the grill put together it did not work. I traced the problem to a broken wire going to the temperature prob. It was in the bundle of wires under the grill. I had to repair it. Grill works great now. Love it."

"I already have a Dualfire 1200 so I am very pleased with the Recteq quality and precise temp control. I also had said top of the line Yoder 640 comp grill also while owning the dualfire and can confirm that Yoder does not stand up to the recteq temp control. "Absolutely beautiful piece of equipment. I put it through the wringer over the past couple of weeks and it’s held up well. I will say I tried doing 3 full rows of brisket (approximately 14 briskets) for the first cook and the temperature distribution wasn’t quite as good as I had hoped. Definitely some significant hot and cool spots which based on the design and the heat source being in the center, I expected it to be a little more even. Other than that, great piece of equipment and I’m happy with the purchase."

The RT-2500 BFG’s temperature ranges from 180°F-500°F. You can change the degrees in 5-degree increments from “Low” mode up to “Ful” mode. In “Low” mode the grill will get to its lowest temperature (180°F). In “Ful” mode the grill gets as hot as possible (500°F+) given some outside factors such as weather and pellet quality/age.
While the RT-2500 BFG is built like a tank, it has not been certified by the NSF. The internal components, however, are food-grade 304 stainless steel.
Due to the lid’s weight (it really is a BFG), hydraulic arms help lift and close it. They sit close to the smokestacks and the smokebox cannot be attached.
